Asset System

Assets are the items that are receiving work. The Asset System organizes and tracks the assets within the AtlasOMS account.

The Asset System organizes and tracks the assets within the AtlasOMS account. An asset is an item of infrastructure, equipment/machine, tool or object that requires maintenance. The Asset Systems tracks work against an asset but also the lifecycle, criticality and various other data describing the asset.

Assets are grouped using Asset Groups. Each Asset Group can be further divided by Asset Types. Each Asset has an Asset Type. An Assets behavior, workflow, and capabilities are based on their respective Asset Type designation.

Note:

As work is performed the information about that work is recorded against the assets that are being worked on. Overtime, the work information joined with the asset data provides powerful insights into the type of work being accomplished and its effectiveness.

Assets can be related to each other through a hierarchy. An asset hierarchy is a way to organize all the machines, equipment and individual components owned by the organization in one or more locations. The top-down structure allows an understanding of the relationship among assets using “parent-child” logic. This hierarchy logic promotes reporting of the maintenance activities, costs and additional information of all children by their respective parent assets.
